The West Valley Plaza and Promenade, located in the Salt Lake City area, Utah, was designed as a public gathering space featuring Lithocrete glass installations integrated into streambeds and water feature steps. Installed in 2011, this project showcases how decorative architectural concrete can enhance urban environments while maintaining durability in high-traffic areas.
During the warmer months, these Lithocrete glass installations are submerged in water, creating a shimmering effect that interacts with light and movement. The materials used ensure a long-lasting, weather-resistant installation, contributing to the beauty and function of the promenade while reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainable, aesthetically pleasing public infrastructure.
